Join us for the Meet the Speakers Dinner, at the Terrace Room, Oakland on Monday, 10th October 2016.
Located in the historic Lake Merritt Hotel, the Terrace Room has stunning views of the lake and its famous “necklace of lights”.
The Lake Merritt Hotel was built in 1927 and dining was added in 1934. Known as the Cascade Terrace in the early days, the restaurant came to prominence when what was once an outdoor terrace was enclosed. In 1992 the City of Oakland declared the hotel to be a Historic Landmark.
A "necklace of lights" encircles Lake Merritt. Featuring 126 lampposts and 3,400 "pearly bulbs", the necklace was first lit in 1925. In 1941, the lights were removed to comply with World War II blackout conditions but, following a decade-long campaign, the lights were again illuminated in 1985.
This dinner offers a great opportunity to meet the speakers and colleagues in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
Tickets cost $50 when ordered in advance with registration and include a three course menu including wine, beer and soft drinks. Transport from The Claremont Hotel to the dinner venue will be provided.
Places are limited so please book early via the online registration system
